L2 Storage & Backup Engineer

(Remote, Mexico)

We are looking for an L2 Storage & Backup Engineer to join a long-term project with a global tech consultancy based in California. You will be providing critical operational support to the client’s Enterprise and Fortune 500 accounts.

What you will do:

• Critical Operations: Serve as the escalation point for storage, backup, replication, and recovery incidents, ensuring SLA compliance.
• Technical Administration: Manage SAN/NAS storage platforms, provisioning, capacity planning, and performance monitoring.
• Backup & Recovery: Monitor backup jobs and perform restorations (file, DB, VM-level), ensuring data integrity.
• Collaboration: Work closely with virtualization (VMware/vSAN), network, and security teams, coordinating actions with vendors such as NetApp, Pure Storage, or Rubrik.

What we are looking for:

• Experience: 5–8+ years in enterprise storage and backup operations.
• Hard Skills: Advanced proficiency in SAN/NAS, LUN Management, VMware vSphere/vSAN, and replication technologies.
• Technologies: Solid knowledge of NetApp, Pure Storage, Dell EMC, and Rubrik.
• Mindset: Strong root cause analysis (RCA) skills, change management, and technical documentation.
• Certifications (Plus): NetApp, Dell EMC, Pure Storage, Rubrik, or VMware VCP.
